Getting a Power Stroke
I am looking at purchasing a used Power Stroke probably a 99' to 01' around 100k miles. Is there anything particular I should look for or ask about when looking at the truck as far as maintnance. Are the any problems that I should be aware of.

you will want to do some things before buying it. pull the intake hose, check the condition of the blades. you want them to be smooth yet sharp. no nicks out of them, or severely curved blades. this tells you the amount of dirt that has been through the engine. go to your local parts store, and pick up some coolant test strips. make sure the coolant is within spec. this is the most overlooked part of the maintenance scheme. if you have time, you will also want to do an oil analysis if the oil hasn't been changed recently. good luck.
