I do HVAC for weekday profession, but I am also the shop mechanic. 4 E-350's, Bosses Winstar and his youngest's camero.
Weekends Tree service ground formen and Mechanic Ford F-350, Brush bandit 150 with a 4.9.
then add all those with the 2 cars and 2 trucks I have. I might qualify as it being a profession.

Service manager/ground worker for local tree service. I maintain a small fleet of equipment, including a topkick bucket truck, Brush Bandit 250XP chipper, and GMC2500, and tons of hand held gear. wouldnt have it any other way either, I LOVE gettin greasy and dirty.

Yeah, Im Going For An Autmotive Diploma Right Now But I Want To Be A Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic For A Career. I'd Rather Work On Big Tractors Than A Car.
I Work In Automotive Parts Retail As A Part Time Deal, And I Work In My Cousins Restoration Shop In The Summer. I Like Customizing So When I Get My Hands On A Mill And A Metal Lathe Ill Be Havin Fun, And I Plan On Opening My Own Custom Shop Up Also.

I have never done engine work professionally. I did work at my families body shop from the age of 12 till I graduated at 18. Six years was long enough for me. I like cars to much to see what people do with them.

I've always preferred to work on my own vehicles to working on those of others, so I never really went into it as a profession. I did work as a mechanic at a national truck rental company quite a few years back, and also did small engines for a time. Now I do construction, but I wind up doing all the maintenance and repairs on not only my boss's equipment but also that of a contractor who rents his shop from us. Last week I replaced the water pump on his D7, today I spent several hours blasting 20+ years of gunk out of the undercarriage of the beast. No, I definitely don't like working on the things. I much prefer to operate them.

I try to stay away from automotive stuff. I'll do my truck and my wife's car, maybe my brother's and sister's cars too if they ever have a problem. But other than that, I do all my wrenching at work.

I owned two gas stations, hated it. Went to work as a line mechanic for fifteen years. Did engine building for four. Then spent eight years building cars (research co.,) and restoring cars for the concours circuit. Now I build just about anything and do a lot of art work.
