Ok gang, Marc (Silverdawg) sent me the updated handout he created. Who can host this for the Chapter or who knows where I have this hosted online for free? Marc did it in pdf format if that makes a difference.
Thanks Marc for making a very nice handout for us to use.
Thanks for the heads up folks. I'm in Northern New York which is very rural and we just got down fighting a bill that was to ban all outdoor wood furnaces. If you have ever traveled in Lewis or Jefferson county you will see piles of them everywhere. Luckily it didn't happen and yes it was started down south near the city. So now New York state is out to get my brush guard on my expedition. Lord I'm getting real tired of this government here. I'll be sure to let all of the folks around here know about this CRAP! Those city folk would just have a ***** fit if they saw what the farmers were driving on the roads here.

There are exceptions in the bill for farmers, but I don't trust them with stopping there and those exceptions won't help a lot of us. Probably it is best that they don't see what a lot of the farmers are allowed to drive on the road as I a sure they would want to ban that too!!!
BTW Libra, join the NY Chapter and looking forward to meeting you at a G2G some time!!!
Dave - I will bring a bunch of the flyers with me to the G2G so people can have them.
I believe the bit of legisation I saw also had the exception of where the brush guard is mounted; chassis vs bumper. But they had no definitions defining what exactly constituted being mounted to the chassis and whether or not welding the guard to the bumper meant it was chassis mounted or just part of the bumper.

Let's hope it went down in flames. Jeezeeeeeeee....Once again NYS and it's nanny state mindset.
(Let's hope the outdoor wood furnace never gets back into play either. My folks on the other side of town use one. Their gas bill went from $400 a month in winter...down to $30 bucks.)
Tedy..we've got a tiny city up here trying to ban the outdoor boilers after having given out a permit for a guy to install 1. the news paper up her only archives for 14 days so i can't link to it, but the law is in the works. i'm sure the state will be trying soon
