You know the kind - the old American Mag look . Will they fit properly on my '74 effie 2WD?..... it's about time for some new Michelins and I think Harrison would look pretty good with a set of 4 on him......
What do y'all think - what size do I need to get for just the "standard" rubber (no fat tires....)
Hey there,
I wanted them for my truck but I can't for the life of me, remember what was the reason, either they were not available in a 15" wheel size or they didn't have our bolt pattern.....ended up I needed 6 1/4 " of backspacing on my back wheels anyways and they was no way on that...They have one standard backspacing and no special orders....
Feel free to double check, this was almost a year ago and things might have changed...but they would look amazing on Harrison.
James
I bought a set off Ebay from "Rons Rims". They were for my 65 Falcon. Ron was 100%, great to deal with, very knowlegeable about all wheels, including the torque-thrust. He had the best price, and quick/cheap shipping. I wouldnt hesitate to call him...he lists his # in his Ebay listings. He will know if they fit...they would look great!! Mike
Thanks James --- glad to see your "red ride" is finished!... lookin' sharp!! I love the spark plug wire covers!....
I guess I'll just remain a "full sleeper" and keep the stock hubcaps. If I had the Torque-thrusts, every hillbilly in town would want to race me anyway and my mileage would DROP..... cuz' you KNOW I'd have to put-them-in-their-place and lettum know how a BUILT 460 ain't something to be taken lightly...

I hear ya. LOL Just to see there expressions are priceless, guess mines not a sleeper though.
Take Care

No, James.. yours is NOT a sleeper. I think yours (what's hiz name - big red?...) people just pull OVER for and don't give 'ya any hassle.... just "let him by because he's gonna either blow my doors off or step on me ~ one of the two.." is all they can think...
I did check out the americanracing.com site - looks like I can get set up for about $1,000.00. I guess I better wait to see if HP is going to lay me off......
I don't think you can get Torq-Thrust wheels for our model year F150s because of the "unusual" bolt pattern.... 5 x 5.5" wasn't offered in any Torq-thrust wheel when I was looking to upgrade wheels a couple years ago. (standard spacing on cars/trucks is 5 x 4.5")
Good news is that American Racing DOES offer the "Hopster" wheel in our size -- and that's what I picked up. Check my gallery for pics... they're like a more "evil" version of the Torq-thrust. They've really grown on me.
One "good news" item is that later-model Dodge trucks run 5 x 5.5 spacing, but the offset is a little different and the "center hub" hole may need some tweaking w/ spacers to work. All info via my local Tire shop.

5 on 5.5 is not a very odd pattern. AM does offer the torque thrust in our pattern my friend has them on his bronco! go to their site and look in the vintage section. lots of choices.
oh RangerXlporerXLT those are sweet rims! Like em better than the TT's !
I am a "tire guy" and can tell you that AR and most wheel companies will make any wheel in any bolt pattern and offset IF[U] you have the $ and time (usually 4-8 weeks for custom builds).
