Aftermarket evaporator?

Heh guys, I've got an '84 F350 CC that I want to add a/c to. I have a parts truck to pull from but What I am thinking about doing is using all of the compressor, condensor, drier, etc from the parts truck and then just putting one of those underdash evaporator units that have all of the controls and vents in it. I already have swapped the truck from 351W and C6 to 6.9L diesel and 5 speed and I have all the switches mounted in the dash so I don't want to swap those out.

My question is, do yall think one of those underdash units will have enough capacity to cool a crewcab? Also, do yall forsee any problems building an a/c system like this?

Thanks,

i have seen under dash units used in motorhomes so there is some units out there with enough capacitiy to cool your truck. the only thing to watch for is whether the under dash unit uses a orfice tube or a flow control valve for the freon(expansion vavle). one draw back is you will not have way to dry the air in the winter time when on defrost.

Defrost is not a problem, I have the stock heater still in the truck and the defrost works great on it.

In dash AC is available.
also new Underdash evaporators are available too
A NEW Drier is a MUST, used driers are like used diapers,,, ya just don't re-use them OK
Compressor, condenser, hoses can be new or used.
