My rear end on my truck is open too, which I would also like to change, but my truck will light them up no problem also. That is with 285's on there too for tires.

I can roast tire from a stop, and my 4.6 L is pretty much bone stock except for the magnaflow single in dual out muffler and the 4" tips.

Just got my plugs, coils, fuel filter, and wires replaced and man what a difference! all that lost power the truck used to have is atleast restored. Also replaced a quart of tranie fluid with quart of Lucas to help stop slip inbetween gears.

I drive a 99 4.6L 4x4 reg cab, def not worth it. the 4.6 is good for longevity and thats about it. I suppose Ford made the 4.6 for guys who drive their trucks on the road alot and want better gas mileage but to tell you the truth my 99 4.6 doesnt get any better than my friends 98 5.4. But I will say 144,198 miles and not an engine problem yet.

I have the 4.6L too. 3.55 LS, 32" tires, and I can barely chirp them from a dead-stop on dry pavement. Now when its wet, I can roast both of 'em no problem...even at 15mph in first gear, they will spin a little.

But Im a power junkie...that's why Im throwing a Ford Racing 460 (466ci) crate motor with a built C6 in it here in a few years. (600HP/650TQ).

Im tired of being the slow guy. My friend has a '98 Ram with the 360 in it, and my other friend has a '86 Chevy with a 400HP 350ci in it....

well Djb if you like the truck otherwise, its worth putting the money into. what you want out and what your willing to put in is the only thing stopping you ther are several great forums if you want to learn about superchargers/turbochargers, tuners, and general aftermarket goodies. this is what i had to do, there is lots of good advice and opinions here that's my 3 cents(inflation) good luck
