It's Alive!
My truck that is. After sitting broke since October, I got my trans rebuilt and put in. Took it for a spin last night and today. I still need to build my 9 inch so no racing or hotrodding...................yet. I just had to share.

That is fantastic news!!! Heck, that old rearend held up for along time at the strip, it'll go a bit longer....Hammer on it!

Congrats! Another one back on the road. I thought ! remember posts with pics of the old dana 41 rear with a lot of hurt. Wasn't that you? What happened to the trans? Were you running a 700R4?

Bobby, the Dana 44 I broke had 40+ passes and the Dana 41 only has 6. I don't trust it much further than I can throw it.
49willard, yes that was me that put the hurting on the rear end. It was a Dana 44 from a 55 F-100 that a memeber here (rogerf100) was kind enough to give me. The Dana 41 is back in to make the truck a "driver." I do run a 700-R4. I ended up breaking both sprag gears and they are supposed to be the best out there. The converter possibly went too.
I'm just glad to have her back, even though she is sitting out in the rain right now.

Rain? what is rain? I don't think I know what that means.
I guess you better save up a few more pennies and find a 9" before racing season starts.

Yeah rain, I almost forgot what it was. We are supposed to get around 1.5" this weekend.
Racing season has started, just not the class I want to run. (It starts next month or in a couple weekes now
)

I can relate to the trans problem, I was doing the same a year ago this time on my '53
