Early 1999 (4/98 build) Turbo?

Just a quick and easy one for someone...Who manufactured the turbocharger for the early 1999 7.3 PSD? Does anyone have the part number for the original turbocharger? Thanks in advance guys, I know someone knows....

that part number is an International part number. the 7 digits and C, and two more digits give it away.

the ford part number-

Turbo Charger Assembly (remanufactured)
(Ford) F6TZ-6K682-ARM (up to 98.5; turbine & compressor)

Both numbers above are correct, I just rebuilt mine, well not really took apart cleaned and replaced journal bearings and some oil pump looking pieces, along with orings.

What is the price difference between the Ford part and International ?
Is re building one as good as re mfg. ?
And how hard is the re build ?
I'm curious because I've got a feeling I'll be doing one or the other in the near futire.
Is there a link to the rebuild ?
Thanks and I'll await replies.

BTW....my build date is 9/98 so i assume is an early "99 and not a 99.5.
Also, isn't the early '99's tubro the same or close to the wicked wheel ?

Yes, the early 99 have essentially a wicked wheel, rebuilding it is a peice of cake, simply start taking it apart, intake housing, wheel, backing to intake housing. The tip it up and the bearings should slide right out, at least mine did. Two brass looking sleeves. The kicker part is, all the four or five pieces in the kit are 100 bucks or so depending on where you find the kit.

So, if the part number on the Garrett turbo is 991966C91, then the previous owner had the turbo changed to the 99.5 and later turbo? This is a 4/98 build...

I had to order from a local shop, TDS Diesel in Nampa, ID. I looked all over the net and couldn't find one, then thumbed through the yellow pages, via dexonline.com, came up with TDS.
