Put an appreciable dent in my project over the weekend. Got all of the front sheetmetal off and the rear fenders. Hope to have the bed off, and possibly the cab next weekend. Put up a couple of new shots in my gallery. Have to say, air rachets make this work so much easier. I have not found any significant rust, and there was only 1 place where there was some bondo on the front valence. does not look like they did any metal work, just slabbed on the bondo. So far so good! As I pull this stuff off, I'm thinking that I'll probably get a blaster. My DA Sander will work fine on the exterior, but not on the inside of the fenders and such. As I'll be doing one piece at a time, it will probably be worth it.
Any comments on the exhaust headers? What type of vehicle where those used on? They are deffinately different than the straight manifolds I see all over the place.
Thats great news. I love it when thing move along, especially in a forward direction.
Those headers are great! I think ff56 is right, they look OEM. A million years ago I saw a set on an early 60's Galaxy that I was told had a 390 police intercepter engine. I remember it had what looked like headers, but they were cast.
Man I wanted that car!! but at 14 I didn't have any way to pay for it, get it home, etc, etc, etc.
