Any suggestions on where to go for great engine work?

I need a complete engine repair or a serious overhaul from a hydro lock that i've just experienced, but I do not know really any good mechanics in my area. Does anyone know a reputable place that will do the job well that I could go to around the San Antonio, TX area?

Thanks

sorry........ I guess I should have been more clear about what I needed. Actually, I am needing a FULL engine replacement. I called a place called Village Automotive and they told me over the phone that they could do if for about $2600 to $3100 and now that I've towed my truck there...... he says that it will cost about $4100...... so.... I was wanting to know if this is a good deal?

Sounds kinda high. Why would the guy go up a thousand from what he quoted you?
I would get my truck to someyone else.
If you have the ability to yank and install the engine yourself you could save a ton.
Also, you might call jenke engines, I think thats spelled right. Hes right down the road from me off of ackerman, but he might be high too, but you get a top class engine tho.
But he would rebuild yours.
You also might call M&M automotive, hes on old seguin rd. right here in kirby. Hes fair and good.
Or you could find a jusnkyard engine and have someyone rebuild it.

Thanks fellas

Thanks for the response guys....... I was in a time crunch and I don't even have a house in which I could do work on..... soo..... I ended up going with APEX Engines on Nagolitos.... I ended up having a client that suggested them and said they do fantastic work! After going down and meeting Jesse (the owner), I like his style and looks like I'll be in good hands. I appreciate all your help and suggestions though.
