Talking Deal of the Century

A friends neighbor just bought an 84 f150 with a big block recently and plans on using it for towing. We were sittin around havin a few brews last friday when the neighbor shows up, starts asking if my buddy could take a look at his truck. we wander over, the feller tells us it just wont idle, and sucks back the fuel something awful. Opening the hood, we find a 514 stroker. hmmm, could be the reason. Turns out the guy wanted a big block for towing, we explain about the 514, and idle is due to cam, fuel consumption is due to the displacement, and cam etc. To make a long story short, he decides to sell 514 for $500.00 even tho were were trying to talk him into askin more. Since we couldnt convince him he could get more, i offered to trade an extra 460 i have, plus a grand for it. he says sure, i'll rebuild the 460, can you do it this weekend? so, now there is a shiny 514 sittin in my buddys shop for me. Do y'all think i got taken on this?lol

Yes you got taken. You should have given him $500 for it, kept the 460 and the other $500.
