Bumps Wha????!
I have a 1989 F-150 4x4 with a 4.9.
One certain hard take offs, it will buck sometimes, and I can hear and feel this bump. Like a joint is missing the rubber piece. Like almost metal on metal. I thought maybe my clutch is slipping? Or something else. I have lifted the truck on from the frame to see if a joint is bad. But they all look good. From what I saw.
Also what does that kind of engine red line at. Under hard acceleration, I usally shift at about 4 top. But since my tac doesn't tell me, I don't know. It sounds and feels like it should at about 4 grand.

well, in my eyes, there is not reason to ever rev a 300 6 over 3500, it just doesnt make any power up there, so i always shift before that. hard take offs, if you hear like metal on metal, it could just be your leafs compressing and twisting. there supposed to have plastic inbetween them to fix this, but they fall out and wear out. you might try lifting the truck up by the frame, and put some grease in there or somthing, see if it helps.
