Not sure about the '11 models but I suspect it's like my '04 - no provision for a trailer brake controller.
I also have a towing package which included a 4-pin plug at the rear bumper for trailer lights. I ran a 7-pin plug off the 4-pin plug. I mounted my brake controller under the console; tapped into the brake light wire at the switch; then hardwired the controller for power from the battery and ran a control line back to the 7-pin plug to run the trailer brakes. I didn't bother running a line for charging the trailer batteries as I didn't need it. Fairly easy job and only took maybe an hour or two.

I've got the wire run to the back, the wiring done for the controller, with the auto resetting circuit breaker that Tekonsha recommends.
Now for the $64,000 question:
They tell you to splice into the cold (wire after the switch, that has no power when the brake pedal is at rest) wire. On my truck there are 2 wires coming out of the brake switch, an orange & and a green/white.(could be blue/white, having a hard time seeing) There AWG is so small that I am afraid of pierce the insulation with a needle, and I can not get the connector off the switch to test. I was told it was the green/white from someone at NAPA, who is pretty good at these things.
Can one of you experts, or someone with a good schematic confirm this, please?
Thanks
