I love the Challenger concept. The Charger is nothing to write home about though. Let's see an R/T model with the 6.1 Hemi be produced. That would be a car to seriously consider.

The vette is pretty true to form, but they were initially offered with a straight 6, not a V8.
As far as the mustang having a 4cyl LX model, the original 64 1/2 had a small straight six, and very few offered with a 260 v8. It was, in Carrol Shelbys words, "A secretaries cars". So I don't see the 80's LX mustangs straying to far from the base of the tree. Now performance didn't really start seeing a big turn around until, what 1980, but that was the times. the 70's Ghia Mustangs, were also called "The Mustang II" that was for a reason. Lee IaCoca, the guy who had the idea for the thing in the first place, wanted to build a car that was truer to its roots, than the late 60 Muscle ponies. Say what you want about the Charlies angel and Pinto Mustangs, but they were cheap, everyone could afford one, and the teens of those days actually liked them.
The GTO was the ORIGINAL muscle car. It started everything. A BIG V8, Rwd, two door, stripped down bare tiger. So what is this repackaged aussie, fancy, Fwd, have to do with the daddy of all muscle cars? A big V8, thats about it. The body looks nothing like it, it doesn't contain any of the GTO spirit.
I heard the Tbird mentioned, yes 67 had a 4 door model, well, suicide doors. and it changed from its original design. It ended up on the scrap floor to. I was dissapointed with the remake, didn't have enough ponies. The Bird was the vettes competition, made the vette grow to a V8, it should have been its competition again, but its not.
I'm truely excited about the rebirth of the challenger, great looking car. MOPAR is turning out some exciting stuff now, and its about time. Germans kicked that butt apparently. I hope Chevy follows through with the Camaro, although I really don't like it, but we'll see how that concept changes.

alright, follow me with this.....GM should start making the gto again, but just like it was in the 70's and 60's, not a single change. Same danm thing as it was back then. With the carborater an the same body style. may not be emissions friendly but boy, would that be a seller!!!

Would never even come remotely close to EPA standards and crash/safety standards. Plus unless it was a decked out GTO judge etc, they really weren't all that great perfomance wise. Most GTO's back then would not even come close to touching the performance of a new GTO, hell, doubt it would even outperform the larger Hyundai's with 200+ hp.

i dout they would change it from wat it is now i dont hate it but its just not a gto at all. its a kick a$$ sedan not a gto
may i have dodge and pontiac repeat after me "we are stupid for turning a once prized muscle car into a sedan" AGAIN "we are stupid for turning a once prized muscle car into a sedan" i kill me somtimes lol

Yeh, but slap a blower on it and headers and itll be pushing more horses. Do you really think back then even one GTO was stock? lol. And emissions well, who cares? I say bring back the carb. Its not like if they did there would be millions on the road. Well, maybe if the did bring back the muscle car everyone would want one. Tell those eviro-hippies to stuff it. And you sed larger hunday ( or however its spelt.).....i doubt a 4 or even japinese 6 banger woud come close in size to a gto's v8

Most ran them stock back then, they were cheap quick cars for there time. Back then economy cars werent pushing 200hp on there own. The GTO was not the most powerful car back then, had a really sloppy suspension even for its competition, and was really heavy.
Plain and simple, if a car does not meet EPA standards, it wont be put into production. You wont be telling any hippies to stuff it.
I did't say it would come close in size to GTO's v8, but most cars today will overall beat the older GTO's in every single catagory aside from fuel consumption. Have you ever even driven an old GTO? my truck will stay neck and neck, and its stock...
Its still a nice car to have and restore, but the new GTO will absolutely blow the doors off the older ones if you only want performance.
