Fumoto oil plug - with nipple or without?

Guys,

Looks like the "nipple" version might allow for a cleaner changing process. Any downsides to getting one with a nipple? I do go offroad on occasion, but nothing radical.

Thanks

No problems IMHO. The nipple allows the use of a down tube...and YES makes the oil change drip free (minus the oil filter of course ).

I have the one with the nipple and have had no issues with it. The only thing I worry about is if it drains all of the oil or not. I haven't tried pulling it off after a drain to see.

I have the Fumotos without the nipple and they work fine for me. I have had Fumotos on 5 of my vehicles. They are a great product and I don't want to use a hose so all the nipple is to me is an extra projection I don't want. I still put a little 5/8" screw clamp on the Fumoto as an extra precaution. ( Fumoto recommends this for off road )

As for as how well a Fumoto drains, I have proved this out by doing the following,
I pulled the plug on my engine, let it drain completely. I then installed my Fumoto and closed the valve. I put a jack under the wheel opposite and jacked up the truck a few inches, opened the Fumoto and got a couple extra tablespoons of used oil to drain.

Test result, jacking up a vehicle with a Fumoto drains more oil than an unjacked vehicle with a plug. I love my Fumotos and they make oil changes so quick and easy.

I used the Fram easy drain or what ever its called, I have changed the oil once since installing it and i really like it. With hose it stops the oil from shooting half way across the shop when i pulled the plug, and there is no way it will ever leak with the brass cap screwed on it between changes.

with the nipple for me.no problems at all .all it dose for me is allow my draining my used oil into 1 gal milk jugs under the truck then into larger 5 gal cans that i take to the collection center in town.
man go for it don't be scared . wrench turned me on to it and and it's grand. best money spent so far. plus no way to strip the oil pan. one time on thats it.
