92 4wd front wheel bearings

When replacing the front wheel bearings on my 92 4wd, it seems like the bearing cups (races) aren't quite right. I've put the new ones in the rotor like the old ones came out, but here's the question...when hammering in the races, do I just hammer them till they're flush on the outside, or do I go all the way in so the inside edge of the race butts up against the ridge that's cast in the middle of the rotor?

The inner and outer races must go all the way in to the machined shoulder in the hub.
