Big Bronco Technical Question

Did any one knows what are de gross vehicule weight for a 1996 and 1993 Ford Bronco?
what are the differences between the engine of the 1996 199 hp and the 1993 185 hp ? How can I obtain the 199 hp or more in a 1993 5.0 8v EFI engine?
thanks for your help

GVWR should be aroun 6200 for both trucks, give or take depending on spring rates and suspension options.

The difference in power probably comes from the fact that the 1996 motor is mass air. You can convert the 1993 motor to mass air with a conversion kit.

The GVWR for the truck should be listed on the specifications tag on the driver's door jamb.

The major difference is the change in fuel injection systems between the model years in question. The 96 has what is comonly referred to as "mass air" fuel injection which is the ONLY true sequential mulit-port fuel injection ever offered in the Bronco. This is the most likely reason for the difference in HP since the fuel injectors can be controlled more efficiently than in the 93 with "speed density" fuel injection. With speed density fuel injection the injectors are bank-fired which is to say that the left bank of injectors are fired then the right and so on as the engine is running. The Mass air injection is capable of firing each injector individually to achieve optimal power output. There may be other changes that affect the HP rating of the engine between 93 and 96 but this is the most significant difference that I can think of.
