Hink,
Any mileage returns when you did the fuel return mod? Is the system you and kwik utilized as good or just good for the money? Although I hate to spend the high prices for the kit, I like the ability to just have everything all in one kit and have at it. On those kits can you adjust fuel pressure?? 68 is optimal right?
I have not had a chance to check milage yet. I have also done several mods at once so it will be hard to determine whether or not it made a difference. It does, however, quiet the motor at idle and it's much better on the injectors not to have all that air passing through. Using Kwik's method is basically the same as the kits except you don't have an external regulator and it's much cheaper. If you want higher fuel pressure, you can buy a shim kit for the factory regulator. There are differing opinions on the proper fuel pressure, some are running around 70psi, some near 55psi. I am running about 60 right now. I am going to experiment a bit and see what feels good for my truck. I have to say, I probably spent as much as the kit putting mine together but I used SS braided hose and anodized fittings. I think it's better than the kit, but would have been nice not to have to fabricate all the lines. A lot of us have done it this way, do some searching and you will have a better idea. I hope this helps some.
Depends on how much fuel is in your tank, instructions are on the label.
I always try to drain the water trap before I add 911 to keep from moving a lot of water into the injectors.
Clux,
Are you talking about draining the fuel water seperator??
It is about 1/2 tnak or just under. Should I put a full bottle and fill up wioth some winter fuel??
That was my thought on filling up......the fuel in the underground has to be better tahn the air temp of 20 degrees today! Do you have the return fuel line mod? Any mpg gain? Can you still do it if you have a LL #8 injector or must that be changed out?
jusy my 2 cents worth, but I run the silver jug of additive from TSC, but it does not prevent gelling. I actually have not had a problem yet this winter, but I do keep a bottle of anti-gel handy. Even at zero the other monring, it started right up and made my 150 mile trip in the bitter cold. Just for info, you can never add too much (anti-gel, mods, additive, etc)
Can you run the Diesel 911 to strong in dosage? I have like 3/8 of a tank and just debating on running the 32 oz bottle in. Says 32oz to 50 gal to remove water, 32oz to 30 gal for gelling, and 50/50 mix with diesel fuel for deicing on filters. Any thoughts?
Just thinking run it on the 3/8 for a bit then head to get fuel and put addative in when i get fuel.
