Last thursday I returned form a 100 miles highway round trip. Truck ran smoothley until suddenly lost foward and reverse gear I only was able to get home in L2 ( second gear). Two weeks ago a replace trans oil and filter I did a minor repair to the radiator....
Are you putting the transmission into gear? Is your transmission full of fluid? Is your linkage all in good shape? Does the fluid look burnt or smell funny? Has your transfercase moved into neutral?
Thanks for yr reply thesprocket, today mi mechanic told me that ATF seems to be mixed with water..!!! Last week I made a minor repair to radiator. They took it off in order to repair it and perhaps during that process some water stayed inside the ATM fluid radiator..??? I asume that is the reason why there is a small amount of water mixed with ATM. They suggest to drain ATF until last drop, change oil and filter and see what happens.... Althoug I am aware that water may have damaged some sensity components inside the tranny.
I am crossing my fingers that could be a fix. Otherwise I may have to rebuild tranny. Down here in Venezuela all parts are imported fm US which made them very expnsive...
If the truck had high mileage and the fluid was not changed on a regular basis then changing it with high mileage can be a bad thing. I've heard of this same thing happening many times with high mileage trannys.
I don't think you could have gotten that much water in the tranny or at least not knowing you did and I am sure at that point you would have changed it out with fresh fluid.
Does the fluid smell burnt at all or look brownish?

I hope not... mine has 117k miles. As a matter of fact last time I changed fluid and filter was just 2 1/2 weeks ago. After the mishap ATM was a bit darker and with an slight burned smell. Tomorrow I will have it back after drain ATF and Fluid and filter replacing. Let´s see what is gonna happen. I will keep posted.
