Eaton Elocker in front Dana 44 IFS??
Hey Everyone,
Will the EAton Elocker (part # EAT19695) fit into the Dana 44 IFS? It's listed for a Dana 44, but it doesn't mention IFS at all.
I know the IFS isnt' a serious axle, and I'm not going to do anything real hard core with it, but I would like to be able to 'go a little futher' then with open diffs.
Thanks

I would prefer the axle open most of the time, since I will use it in the snow and ice often. But I've spun one tire enough to want something to give that extra "umph" when I need it. I'm not planning to do anything too nasty to it, mostly mud and snow in the mountains. It's not an extreme rock crawler or anything. I'm going to have some differential work done anyway, and thought this would be the time to do it, if I ever was going to do it.
From what I understand a limited slip is not the best choice for snow and ice, is that true?
oh, and yes, I do mean TTB.
Thanks guys.

BTW, what is the "weak link" with the TTB that everyone hates so much? Is it the housing or the axle shafts themselves?

I think that's what you mean, though.
Thanks
BTW, what is the spline count on the pumpkin ends? 19 for the hubs (I think), but is it 30 for the other side?

19 outer, 30 inner
I run a LS up front but it only has 2k on it and still performs like a locker, it doesn't slip at all. Know probs with mine except wheel bearing issues from teh 35's. BTW jsut be easy on the gas don't be dumpin it hard in 4wd or somethin or where you have a ton of traction. Also get ready to kinda push through the corners in the ice snow if ya have it in 4wd and are locked or LS up front
