Is Anyone Running A 460 Jasper Engine?

I have 175,000 miles on my 460 and I use it for towing around 10,000#, and I need some added power. The more I think about it instead of replacing heads, or caming it, etc, I would just install a remanufactured engine. I emailed Jasper Engines and told them what I had and what I was doing with it and they responded back the next day with a price and what they recommended. Has anyone bought an engine from them? If so share what you think of it. Is there another company that remanufactures engines that is prefered? Thanks for any help.

Jasper is good but they want way to much $$$$$ i think sometimes the price is a little stupid. i have been using www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com so have other members. the quality is great and the shipping is fast. the price runs a lot less than Jasper.

does the rebuit-auto-engines have a warranty like the jasper engines do? i heard that if you're going to get a remanufactures engine that jasper was the way to go.

rebuilt-auto-engines is the website for S&S motor. they are very well known. they come with a 70,000 7 year warranty. much better than jaspers 2 year 24,000 warranty. jaspar has been more or less riding on their name the last few years. there stuff is nothing special.

huh...man that's a big warranty...yeah all i've heard about has been jaspers. i checked out the rebuilt-auto-engines web site and seen what kind of warranty was on those things after i posted. man....but for over $1,000 you could built one heck of a motor. Hey kermmymotor...what did they say it was going to cost you?

That's pretty good prices considering the warranty. I have been buying 4 star engines through a local warehouse. They are a bit cheaper, but only have a 3 year 36000 mi warranty. I guess it's a trade-off.

I looked at the rebuilt-auto-engines web site and they offer a remanufactured engine as does Jasper, but the difference is Jasper is about $1200 more. the Jasper was $2600 built for towing that means an RV cam. One thing is when I emailed Jasper with what I wanted they responded back the NEXT DAY. REBUILT-AUTO-ENGINES has yet to respond back and it has been a week. I thank ford390gashog for turning me on to them. $1200 is alot of difference.

S&S is sometimes slow to respond to emails i will admit that. but give them a call and they pick right up. they ship 1,000 engines a week so they do get a bit busy. they will also do upgrades at cost. i added a rv cam to a 302 for 72.20 or so and had a roller timing chain added for 76.00.

Thanks again, ford390gashog. That would be the same changes I would want for my 460. I'll call them.
