Hey everyone! Have a 48 F-6 with a Heil Grainbed i think? I found the originall tag but it was on the hydraulic hoist not the bed! So my question is did Heil make the bed or just supply the hoist? And if they did produce the grainbed does anyone know where i can get pic's from? my bed is missing the back gate and i need to know how to reproduce it! ty for the help!
My '49 Hildy's catalog has a two page ad for Heil showing different types of truck bodies and hoists but they don't have a picture of a grain bed, just dump bodies and tanks.
You should make up a gallery and post some pictures of your truck. Maybe some will see it and have a picture of something close. I have a lot of pictures of trucks I have pulled from the internet over the last eight or more years.
Most likely Heil just supplyed the hoist. Most farmers around here made their own grain box usually of wood as money was tight after buying a new truck. Is your box made of wood or steel?
Pics are necessary.
