Banks exhaust!!

I have an 05 screw with the 5.4.Im just wondering if anyone has put this exhaust on their truck and if so did it effect the truck in any way.The dealer told me thats its a very good exhaust system ,which I already knew, but they have been having problems with the mass air sensors and some other computer functions in the truck related to the new exhaust. I dont wanna spend the money on this cat back system to find out that it gives the computer a whole bunch of "false" readings..thanks !!

This is the 4" unit, with 5" tip right? Too big if you ask me. You lose quite a bit of your exhaust velocity with piping that large, and a motor that cant breathe that hard. Past that, I cant tell you much about it. I normally tell people about the Bassani brand. Research is the key to finding what is the best for you.

A cat-back exhaust system causing the MAF (or any sensor for that matter) to throw codes is total BS.

Banks has some nice products, but when it comes to exhaust systems you'll find out very quickly how much they are over-rated.

Although no flowmaster points in this thread (yet) from you superrangerman, I knew Id see you post right behind me . You must have ESP (exhaust system perception ) for these threads.

Nah, I just have a attenuated BS meter!

I have a hard time with the idea that ALL Flowies are refered to droners when in fact the wrong muffer was probably put on the wrong application. There are so many styles of Flowies that the combinations are endless.

It would be nice if a list of links to various exhaust clips and the such could be stickied or something. This way every one could choose what they wanted, and I wouldn't get caught in those Flowie debates.

I do get tired of trying to re-iterate what mine sounds like all the time. I guess I need to webspace a link like you did.

Different strokes for different folks.

Here are some clips of the bassani kit on my 04:

As for pricing, about 430 for aluminized, 530 for stainless steel.

Thumbs up

redcrew; I have the Bank Monster Exhaust on my 04 5.4 4x4. It sounds great, a mild aggressive tone. It has a polished straight through muffler, 3" pipe behind the cat and 3 1/2" pipe after the muffler with a 5" polished tip. The entire system with shipping cost $418.00 and I bought it directly from Banks. It weighs considerably less then the factory unit, and was super easy to install. I am very pleased with the performance increase while towing, but I also have an Airaid air intake and some other mods. IMO it was worth the money. Hope this helps.

Txflyyaker>>>Thanks for the input!! Im looking at the banks dual side exit cat back with the twin 3.5 exhaust tips. The price from them is around 800.00. I was wondering if u had any problems with any "false"sensor readings?
My service manager said that they have been seeing some problems with this exhaust and i just wanna "research" before i buy it.......thanks again

Since nobody has brought it up yet, I would also consider magnaflow. I have the 3" single in single out on my truck (04 5.4). The sound is excellent, turns heads when you get on it. Not much resonance in cab on the highway. Tip is only single walled and is discoloring, but sound is top notch. I had consided banks but after talking to a diesel exhaust specialist in N.J. that had just replaced a rusted out 1 year old banks exhaust on an excursion, that banks would not warranty, with a bd system. This sealed the deal on the magnaflow.

Banks system

I bought the Banks system around a year ago and I love it. Not to loud but you know its there, As for the power when it comes to only exhaust with a truck that big you might not ever feel the difference. I have Araid intake, Diablo programing, Headers, and the Banks. With this combination the F150 rocks. I have outruned 3 series BMW's, SRT-4's. Even my buddy with a 04 Mach1 was pushing it to go around me.

I also have the banks system, I got it for 350.00 on ebay, and i have had no problems. It didn't make too much of a difference with performance, accept for when I was passing someone, and had the huge 5" tip in there window ha ha!!! When I put the edge evo on the exhaust sounded even better.
