Welcome to the Missouri chapter. It's good to hear from you. What part of Missouri are you from?

You have a gasser or a PSD? If you've got a PSD, cruise on over to the diesel thread. You'll find lots of mods for your truck. 400hp and close to 1000 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels is very attainable, all on stock internals, given that you've got the forged rods instead of the PM rods.

Well, at least it's a Ford. I'm obviously a little biased.

Well, the pocket book can be a big decision maker sometimes. Keep your eyes open for a PSD though at a good deal. Once you switch over, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Especially if you do any towing or hauling. Running empty, I can usually see between 18-20 mpg on the highway. Towing with a GVW of approx 15,000 lbs, I see 14-15 mpg running 70-75 on the highway. In town mileage can range from 12-15, depending on how heavy my right foot is that day. With my mods, it can be hard to keep the foot out of it sometimes. I guesstimate that I'm making 350-400 hp and between 700-800 lb-ft of torque, at the crank.
