i have a 1995 F250 with the 460 and a 5 speed. i want to do some upgrades because i pull a gooseneck with hay and a 5th wheel camper and i dont have quite the pullin power that i feel that i should have with the 460. It has 3.55 gears is one of the problems.
I have been lookin at a good cam upgrade and i was wondering if anybody had tried and knew if the comp cams xtreme 4X4 cam would work with the stock computer setup. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks again
You get more for your money from a gear change. Put 4.10's in it and you will see more power than from a cam change and all the headaches that go with it. Such as getting a chip burnt correct and possible new cam failure. Have you done anything to the exhaust system?
i plan on getting headers this summer right now i have true duals run with flowmaster 40 series no cats. also what do you think i should do on the intake side because there are no good cold air intake kits for the 1995
That is the same advice a friend of mine gave, go with gears, in fact two friends gave me that advice. I have an 86 F250 4x4 460 C-6 with 3:55 gears. 4:10s have been the gears recommended I tow a 10,000#.
