anyone ever get these. I've had 6 or so in the last couple years. Just had another one couple hours ago, the pain from these is unreal, couple girls I know that have had them say it's the closest pain you can have to giving birth.
Gonna try and get a appt to see the dr. again as he wanted to know when I get them less than 6 months apart, which this one was.
For anyone that has had theirs removed how bad was the recovery and did you have bad side effects.
My wife had hers taken out about 5 years ago. Wasn't that bad really- she was a little sore for a couple of weeks. Actually.... considering the pain involved when it isn't working right, she was kicking herself for not doing it sooner.
My wifes attacked her one morning and they took it out that afternoon.
They made 3 insicions in her belly about 1/4 inch.
She was poorly for a few days and got tird of my cooking and ran me out of the kitchen.
She was out of work for about a month.
They did hers with micro surgery and that is less painful than the old way.
This happened about 7 years ago.
the pain is bad ,the newer surgury is no sweet . 3 little holes all micro. in and out the same day. then about a month of r&r like new again. mine got pulled in 95,
I had mine taken out when I was 25. The pain was horrible. I can't vouch for it being as bad as childbirth. I was one of those rare blessed women that didn't feel any pain during the births of my two daughters (and I didn't take any pain killers). Anyways, my episodes came on quite suddenly and were intense for about a week, until the surgeon told me I had to get it out. The surgery was no big deal. It was the same as other people have mentioned already. Three small holes, one right at your belly button. I was uncomfortable for about two days. I also got 6 weeks off from work, which was a nice vacation. My biggest problem was that the removal effected my whole digestive system. It took over a year for me to get right. Everytime I ate, I had to run to the bathroom. It was very inconvenient, especially when I went out. This might not happen to you, because I was told by the surgeon that this doesn't happen very often to people. Good luck. And you will feel much better once it's out.
I have some experience, but only indirectly. As an EMT with our local FD I can say that gallbladder attacks are among the most painful things I've seen people have to suffer through - sometimes we have to transport people in the fetal position because the pain is so severe they just can't straighten themselves out. The last one I had described her pain as 20 of 10, and I believed her...
