Yeah I wonder if the slave cylinder failing was the reason it was hard to put into gear after it had been in neutral with the clutch pedal out.... the clutch plate looked like it still had some meat left on it so I was surprised by how much trouble I was having shifting.

My truck has always been a little difficult to get into First about half the time. It hangs up just a hair about halfway into the gear, but it has done this forever and i just got used to it. If i put it in first just before i complete my stop it goes right in. Eventually when i need a clutch and a slave i'll find out and report back. My throwout bearing has been noisy forever too. It makes a rattle sound in neutral with the clutch out. Oh well i just live with it, I love my truck. Everything works, it just has a few quirks.

Have you ever checked/changed the fluid? if it makes a noise in neutral with your foot off the clutch......it's the tranny not the throwout bearing

It's not the trans. when i push in the clutch it goes right away. And yes i've changed the trans fluid 3 times already since i bought the truck new. When you push in the clutch it loads the throughout bearing and takes the rattle out of it.

that is all new to me.........here is my test..........idle the truck with the gear box in nuetral and the clutch depressed........if it makes a noise it is either the TB or the PB...........

Every bad throwout bearing I have seen has been the opposite......when the bearing was under pressure(clutch depressed) you would hear a noise. ..I wonder if your slave cylinder is loose or maybe where the throwout bearing sits in the slave is loose?

Thumbs up Bleeding video is great

Soft pedal and having to floor the clutch pedal suggest this better bleeding procedure need to be followed, I'll take him the video and hope he doesn't get defensive!
Thanks for the link to a great video!
