I am getting ready to replace the E4OD in my 91 Bronco with a C-6 out of an 88 ford truck. My question is concerning a wiring loom jumper. I noticed in the wiring schemetics in the Haynes manual that if any transmission but the E4OD was used there was the possibility of a jumper connected to the wiring loom. I am just wondering if this is correct or that the loom was left hanging, did the jumper connect the computer feed wire to another wire. The wiring Schemetic was a bit unclear on this point.
im not 100% on that but your ecu will throw out a CEL with that tranny gone. if you can find an ecu from a bronco/f150 with your motor size/c6 combo you wont get that anymore
After looking at the fordfuelinjection.com website, I think I will try without swapping the computer first. Worst that can happen is that I need to go back and find a PC to swap between trucks. As long as the PC is out of a vehicle with a 351, EEC-IV and RABS I should be fine. Considering most of the options were shared among the bronco with the trucks.
