Kennbelle Supercharger for 460efi
#32
Why the Kenne Bell? I assume that because it was a kit you may be able to find one and there may be parts availability? don't want to rain on the parade but they dont look that available considering the previous posts. You've previously suggested that you may put in a cetrifugal s/c so there may be kits out there for that? my ignorance is showing but there was no other superchargers fitted kit or OEM to these BB's? The power problem looks like a mismatch between the cam and extractors somehow so there maybe merit in the timing chain suggestion. In saying that I dont know how to fix it other than removing and checking the cam/timing. How expensive is a cam for these big bad boys, is it worth replacing the cam lifters and timing chain considering all the other things you've done to the engine?

kennebell supercharger for 460efi
Hello everybody,
I have seen many posts about the phantom Kenne Bell Supercharger for the 460EFI. These posts are all several years old. I own one of these Kenne bell kits for my 1997 F250HD Crew Cab. It is not yet installed, but I'm hoping to get around to it soon. I am missing the supercharger to intake manifold adapter.
Anyway, if anybody has any new information about any of these posts I would love to hear from them. I would be willing to sell this kit if the price is right or I would love for some support when I start my install.

C'mon snake give us some more info on that KB if you actually have one.....
Update on my tranny....found a very reputable local shop (wish I knew of them the first go around) That rebuilt my trans. It was pretty funny listening to the tech, he found several mismatched parts in the "mighty jasper"- from different years even. He said the only thing that was not stock spec was the 1200 stall converter......I will never buy anything Jasper again, what a joke. When I ordered this piece of junk to start with, the guy on the other end of the phone line said it should be good for 600 hp behind a 7.3 powerstroke so my 350hp 460 wouldnt even bother it at all-- and the jasper converter was to be 15-1600 rpm stall. $3000 and 57,000 miles later it left me stranded coasting down the road. All the teeth were smoothed slick on the clutches, and the list of other worn out pieces is lengthy. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I could have bought one of those $900 ebay trannys and been just as well. If I had abused it hard all the time from day 1 I would expect something to give after a while. Anyway, now I have a $2000 rebuilt trans that actually has beefed up internals to handle roughly twice the power my engine is making, and I love the 1900 rpm stall converter. The only downside is I feel like I have a $5000 transmission. Any of you guys ever start to feel that way after blowing a few engines? hahaha

Oh man an that is a deal.... I work on 7.3's all the time and have installed these turbos straight from Beans- but off the shelf they are about 11-$1200 last time I got one. They are good for about 425-450 hp on the 7.3, good turbo. I have heard of several people using the garret 7.3 turbo on a ford 460 and they actually are a pretty good match. I have seen the youtube clip and yes you are right it sounds freakin awesome.
