You know I tried it and the place I am living in (I rent) shows like 800k or so but I know it's worth closer to 1.5 mil. Sounds crazy I know for just an old farm house on three acres, but comparable house down the street sold for that recently. Such is the life around Silicon Valley.

Kinda funny, it's lowballing me by about 15% and comming in high on some neighbors by about 10%. Looks like it's reasonably accurate when glancing over a neighborhood as a whole though.

$800k in Silicon Valley gets you a shack. Amazing, especially if one bought 10-20-30-40 years ago.

a million bucks thats insane. around here 300,000 is about as high as it gets. of couse you have to drive 30 miles between each town theres land as far as the eye can see.

my parents bought this one for 73,000 bucks in 92. of couse with all the work thats been done its probly worth twice as much now. just a simple 2 story, 4 bedroom, 2 bath house, with a 2 car gardge and a pretty big yard, it was built in 1977, we're the second family to live in it.

Your parents house would just about pay for my lot- all 7,000 sq ft worth. The next house will be a smaller house on a bigger piece of dirt- but land prices are scary. At least here I have 17 acres behind me of protected greenspace, and a killer view of Mt. Hood.

Yeah, this neck of the woods is known for a little insanity. CA real estate is just that though. There is a golf course about a mile away as the crow flies that had lots for sale last time I was there. 3.5 mil got you 44 acres on the course... You get to name your street. What a bonus! For now, I have one roommate and we pay a total of $1500 a month plus electricity and the landlord pays the propane for heating, etc. So my $700 to live on 3 acres is by far the best value I can get for now.

it showed my place as $89,600, and a Realtor offered me $295,000 last week.
it showed my sisters old place at $129,000, and she sold it last month for $475,000.
my parents development, built 30 years ago, does not exist.
so i don't think it is that accurate.

That is way off.I have a copy of the town record. It calls my house a 2 bedroom and made in 1953.I was rolling on the floor with laughter. It's a 3 bedroom built in 1959 by the town records. Value wasn't bad 267,000 for the area.

Strange, it's putting me at 113k, one neighbor at 121k, and the rest around 60-70k. Allegheny County assessment puts it at 122,400, so I guess it's sort of accurate.

Man, I'm kinda glad I live in Pittsburgh now, 5 BR, 2 1/2 Bath, finished gameroom, garage, 1968 sq ft, and it's not 2.5 million freakin dollars.
