Another cruise control thread: no self-test 2005 F250
I have a 2005 F250 6.0 that the cruise control has not worked since I've had it.
Things I've checked:
Turn/brake bulbs are all working
Steering wheel buttons ohm out at the connector at the base of the steering column
Lamp lights with instrument cluster test
Bypassed master cylinder switch with paperclip
No fuses seem to be blown
I've tried to do the key on holding down the off button test, but the CC light never comes on.
Any other ideas?

Not sure if this happens on SD, but you may want to check at throttle body to see if CC actuator cable is functioning correctly, lube, cracked, just bad.
Good luck, let us know what you find.

When I press the cruise on and coast buttons, the horn blows. Is this supposed to happen or is it a potential clock spring issue?

I was wondering about the CC system check, I saw some things saying certain year models, others not.
Right now I am leaning towards the clock spring since the horn blows when ON and COAST are pressed together. Also, while some of the CC buttons ohm out correctly at the connector, the ON and OFF aren't close to what the wiring diagram says they are supposed to be.
Still open to any other ideas, clock springs aren't cheap for sure. Also, does anyone know if the clock spring with radio controls will work in place of the CC buttons only one? Reason I ask is it looks to be $50 cheaper and I've toyed with the idea of getting a steering wheel with controls and adding them if the wiring is present in the column.
