1999 F350 7.3
I am having a little problem with the engine going dead or almost going dead about 45 seconds after I start it. At an idle , sometimes it will go up a few hundred RPM and then go back to normal. When I first start it ,I don't have a lot of throddle . It does not do it all the time and seems to get a little better when it warms up. My code tester is not a real high priced one but does not show any codes. Thanks for any help....Tom

When was the last time the oil was changed? and what Viscosity. Does this happen (die) all the time are only when it is cold. What color is the smoke (blue, white, black, none) coming out of the exhaust? How cold has it been? Check the ebpv and see if it opens, or stays closed. More will chime in soon.

It doesn't seem to be getting worse but maybe more often. It does it at around 40 degrees and when weather warms up to the 60s it runs good. Oil has been changed every 5000 mi. and the last one was 2500 miles ago(Shell Rot.) When I unplugged the ICP it was wet (oil or diesel) in the ele. fitting and runs better untill I plug it back in.
