Has Anyone Supercharged Their V-10 Yet. I Got Smoked By A 6.0 Stroker A Couple Of Months Ago And It Has Been Driving Me Nuts Ever Since. If I Supercharge My Truck Can I Teach These Diesels A Lesson Or Not.
So your gonna spend $4k just to beat a 6.0L that you have no Idea what aftermarket parts it had. You can buy the SC but the guy with his stroker or Dmax or cummins can spend $1000-$1500 and will be back to wiping the table with you. I love my V10 but when it comes to hopping it up and trying to stay ahead of the oil burners your really fighting a losing battle, I wish I had better news for you. Now if you want to have a great very sought after hotrod that can be a real screamer and pull a house of the foundation then by all means get yourself that SC, just admire the V10 for what it is, nice - quite - refined - quick respose - 415Ci small block V10 that requires less maintennce than a diesel and is a joy to drive weather it be towing a trailor, going through the drive through, or taking your little woman to the movies, it'll excell at all of them, just be happy with what you have; thats the best advise I can give you. (I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have one, they just are't real econimcal)

Since the dawn of time man has been seduced by the quest of biggest/fastest. Caveman can be seen in ancient hieroglyphics whittling their stone wheels down to the lightest weight possible in order to gain a slight advantage in the bi-annual caveman 500 (it was yards then, and all downhill). Some power is good, more power is better, and WAY too much is enough until the next, faster guys comes along. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, unless it's under your hood. Then it needs just a tiny bit more. Hey, become a crack dealer or spend your time wrenching on your rod, pretty simple once you look at it in that light huh ?
Supercharge it ! Then add NOx, get the heads Extrude honed, have a cam ground, domed pistons, 90 lb hour injectors, dump a little nitromethane in her, then a four link for the rear to help those 60 foot times. Line lock, air shifter, YEA BABY !!! GO !!! GO !!! GO !!!

Check out my gallery (pix of supercharged '01 V10). If you have specific questions let me know. BTW, a modified diesel is going to be hard to beat no matter how you modify your V10. I personally have not had any confrontations yet, but I will say that my truck will get up and move pretty well.
diesel accessories compared to V10 accessories: 1000 to 1.
there's reasons for this, A; we don't need them to 'feel' like we're fast. And B; diesel guys are more easily sucked in by shysters selling trickery. Why else would they have spent an extra $6K for an engine that's less powerful ?
I'm not gonna bad mouth the diesels, they have there place just like the V10 and the 5.4L. They all serve a purpose that they all do better than there fellow counterpart. How about we just leave it at that. WE DON"T NEED TO ENCOURAGE THE DIESEL GUYS TO HANG OUT AROUND HERE TO ARGUE WITH US!! Lets see if we can put a stop to this, and as much as I like a good Gas vs Diesel Arguement (because I'm always right, lol) this isn't the place and either is the diesel forums, head to the SD or Compitition forums. Sorry Ken, just tryin to keep the peace around here and it doesn't take much to get on the nerves of certain unnamed engine owners, lol. By the why ken your first post was great, and so very true!!
I was on the whipple web site and see they are scheduled to have one for the 05-06s pretty soon. What brand is the Ford Racing One, is it an Eaton?? I would love to have one but I beleive my better half would have a few words for me If I went and through down $3500 on some go fast parts for the truck, if ya know what I mean.
4K for the supercharger and you've got the coolest ride on the planet! Still spent less for it than the 6.0 option... If you got the need for speed DO IT!!!
