Those of you with Dark Stone Metallic

I am looking at two used Super Duties in this color. One is a lariet with lower accent Arizona Beige and the other is solid Dark Stone.

Question #1 What drew you to this color?

Question #2 Have you even had second thoughts about the color?

Question #3 Anything bad you can say about this color?

I realize that the answers are purely taste related. I am just wondering what people think of it. Thier first impressions, any reservations, and regrets? I like the color and at times I say it is just brown. Any input will help me in my decision.

Thanks

Smile Dark Stone

I have a 2006 f-350 in dark stone with the lower accent beige metallic paint. I think it is the best color that Ford offers. Absolutely love it!.Wouldn't even look at another color. Go for it man!!!!!!!!!!

It's a great color. If you like it, go for it... after all, you are the one writing the 45k check!!

I ended up ordering the shaddow grey instead of the stone, but it was a close race. The stone looked brown in some light situations, and i didn't want a brown truck... but then again... i'm pretty quirky.

I have a grey 2003. I am trying to be patient. I am looking for a used 2005 2006 super duty. So far I found tow that would fit my needs. One is a lariet 250 CCab 2 tone. The other is a XLT 350 CCab solid stone metallic.

I am fussy about my vehicles also. So that is why I decided to see what other thought.

I have a 2002 with the grey body color, no two-tone, although I prefer that.
I am thinking of creating a two-tone look by having the black LINE-X sprayed on the lower body panel below the accent panel.
Otherwise, I am def a fan of the grey color

I love the Dk Stone, except that it seems like a really soft paint. It scratches and chips much easier than my last one, that was white. When it is clean and waxed there is no other color I like better. Good luck with your purchase

Had a Dark Stone/Arizona Beige Lariat as a demo. I chose it because..... it's a popular combination, and easy to sell. (Heck, there are worse reasons, right?).

You mentioned the word "used," though. price and condition mean waaaay more than color. On new, you can just order what you like best- all costs the same.

It is such a different color than grey. It looks dark at nignt and the chrome really looks good on it. In the daytime it looks dark mettalic grey and shines as it has a flake in it. I have the single tone version on my Lariat and would not go another color. When she is washed and waxed I get a ton of people ask me what the color is and that it looks great. In the evening sun it looks different too. I have always had white or the white/tan combo and stepped out on this one and I am glad I did. It definately is not boring IMO.

I would agree that it scratches easily or at least the dark color shows them more. It gets dusty quick too. I always wanted a metalic brown truck and this was Ford's attempt. It does look great when clean. If I were order another one I'd get white or AZ Beige.

I love how -- as others have pointed out -- it changes color in different lighting situations. My only concern was how badly it would show dirt, but it isn't nearly as bad as black in that respect. I get a lot of compliments on the color--and I have no regrets!

It's still a dark color and will show the dirt and dust just as bad. I went with Arizona beige after having 3 of my last trucks black or a dark color. My truck now doesn't show dirt or dust hardly at all. Best decision I've made in 4 trucks!

Check out the pic in my gallery mine is an '05 f250. I have always been partial to white just for the dent/ding/scratch factor. But no problems so far on the Drk stone I really like this color. And yes it does show dirt, but then again the FX4 sticker just does not look right unless it has some mud/dirt splashed acrossed it.

All colors are covered with the same clearcoat, so they are the same hardness. The darker colors just show more.
