Angry Why don't you sell DIESEL fuel??

why don't the fuel stations sell Diesel fuel and get rid of the high test (93 Octane) that no one is buying. I came back from Atlanta today and stopped at 4 gas stations of which none sold Diesel fuel. It just don't make sense to me...

A large number of people still use that high test gas. Truck stops along the highway generally sell diesel fuel.

Yes. What they should drop is the "mid grade" stuff.

I need Diesel and My Wife needs the 93 octane for her Beemer. Most stations were built before diesel was in big demand and most don't want to pump out their tanks and convert to diesel. I am thinking about opening an Oil Change Shop geared towards diesel pick-ups. Use top quality oils (Schaeffers, Rotella, etc.) and have a Diesel Pump with fuel that has been treated w/Power Service. Still trying to see if that would work in my area. Hate to go broke right now. Did that allready and it wasn't fun.

That's a good idea. However I wouldn't go that far. I would offer services to the little gas burners as well, they will be your backbone, and have one stall big enough to accomodate up to semi trucks and diesel pusher RV's. You'll get 10:1 the volume of the little cars and gasser trucks compared to the big rigs unless you are situated along a major intersection of the interstate system. And then you'll have to compete with the likes of Flying J, Pilot, etc.

Gasser's would be welcome too. There is a TA Truckstop on I10 here in Lafayette that handles a lot of Big Rigs. There are also KW, Pete & Mack dealers here also. I just hate going to the Quick Change joints. I want my vehicle serviced, (the right way) period. I don't need a free half a### car wash or anything else.

Most mid grade does not come from a separate tank. It comes from mixing the other two gas grades.

Of course if the station does have another tank they could sell diesel very easily.

Does anybody know why Costco or Sams Club don't sell Diesel? They are always one of the lowest priced places to buy unleaded, but no Diesel.

Sheetz gas stations are very big here in Southwest Virginia, but only a few of them sell diesel. I asked a former manager and the reason the company list is that if they tried to accomodate Mercedes and light duty trucks that some idiot would come in with a 80000# gross dumptruck and tear up the parking lot so they just dont sell it. Also told me why they concrete their parking lots totally instead of just around the pumps. They said women feel safer at night due to the light reflecting off of the white concrete and illuminating the area better.

I do wish that more people sold diesel but some of dont want the big trucks in there and I have to agree with that.

I don't know, but it's thier loss. I usually get my diesel at the Safeway in Kenmore, WA. Nice brand new pump island with three diesel hoses.

Does any body get Diesel at Loves? At the one here in Albuquerque, you have to go inside and pay. Why don't they have the card swipe at the pump?
