I had my Banks PowerPack installed yesterday and now I my engine light is on. The codes are P0053 and P2195. They are both pointing to bank1 sens1 which is the sensor that required an extension to reach.
After clearing the trouble code, you can drive 10 to 15 minutes before the engine light comes on.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this? Do you think the sensor went bad or is it the extension they sent from Banks?
As always, I appreciate any help you can give.
No one has any ideas on this?
Since I first posted this yesterday, I checked for vacuum leaks, checked the pcv, MAF is clean, and changed the O2 sensor. The code was cleared after all of this and came back this morning at almost the smae spot as yesterday morning.
Can anyone suggest something I haven't already done?
Yes. I talked to Banks late yesterday afternoon and they are going to send me a new extension for the sensor. They think it may have been bad and the new one should solve the problem. I guess I'll find out!

This would have been my first guess!!!. Make Banks pay for that new O2 sensor that you didn't need too!!
I will tell you that the extension is question is a royal PITA to connect. It is very likely that it did not get plugged in all the way. It plus BEHIND the engine block and infront of the firewall. I installed mine myself and I still have the scar on my left arm from installing it. You have about 2 inches to squeeze your arm in there and make the firm snap connection. The back end of the head is VERY sharp aluminum.
Might be something to thnk about.
I also had to modify the extension end. If I remember right, I had to smooth out one of the pins to get it to work right. They have male and female ends. Can't remember exactly what it was, but I had to modify to get it to plug in.

This connection is easier to make from under the truck, but it is a blind procedure either way.
You do need to remove one tab from the end of the extension. It is in the instructions to do so and it is obvious, because it will not plug in unless you make the modification.
I haven't had a chance to get back to the shop that installed it yet. I did call them and they said it had arrived but, they were leaving early today and wouldn't be around when I got out of work. If I don't get there tomorrow, I'm taking Friday off and will go then.
The extension was replaced on Friday. When the original Banks extension was checked after being replaced, we found that the white wire was not secured in the clip. That sure looked like the problem!
Drove home and went to do a few errands and the light came on again at roughly the same spot as it did the last few times.
Looks like it's going back AGAIN! The guys did tell me that they didn't inspect the new one to see if it had the same issue as the original because they had already installed it when they found the problem.
After driving it for a few hundred miles now, I give the PowerPack a big thumbs up w/an astersick. This engine light probelm is driving me nuts!
Antelope V10... I can't respond to your PM cause your box is full. Her eis what I would have written:
No! Not yet anyway. I work 45 minutes from home and it's a bit of a hassle to get to the shop that did the work without a vehicle. I am taking some more time off this Friday morning and hopefully, they will get the problem solved.
I really feel a difference while driving now and I barely notice the light but, I'd prefer that it go off!
I can't wait to see how the truck performs when towing this spring. With the PowerPack and the 4.30 I had installed, I expect it to be fantastic.
I am thinking of getting the Ottomind when I get my tax refund. My understanding is that while it doesn't add signifigantly to the hp or torque it does change how quickly you feel the existing power. I hate to spend more money on it but when you think of how much I've already spent, what's another $400???
I'll let you know how things go Friday. I know the guys at the shop are anxious to solve this issue and put it behind them.
I skipped the ottomind chip and went with a SCMT 1715. To me, it is more bang for your buck seeing it tunes the tranny also. Plus it is plug and play versus splitting that plastic case and removing the OEM chip and installing the new one.
