No I believe that they are going to bring out the diesel one in 2010(Y I don't know giving prices like they are, I don't think even the 150 crowd would like to touch it).

Ya, i think that's what the 4.4L diesel is going in, I think i read it in Truckin I cant remember what the exact numbers are but hp was low and torque was high (typical) they also had dodges and gms letter size and numbers for there 1/2 tons

latest report says 340hp & 430 ftlbs, sounds pretty comparable to a 00'-04' 2 valve V10. they also said it will be one of the standard./base engines for the superduty.

I saw that and was going to comment but i have no idea what that is. any explanation? And i could ma be see it making that Torque but the hp seems a little inflated and those numbers the way i understand it were there guess at what it would make.

Urea - comes from urine, but I'm sure there's other ways to make it

It's something emissions-related, forgot what.

The new diesels get the higher Hp numbers with the addition of better/more turbos, direct injection, and stronger & lighter metals for the engine internals. Outside of N America diesel engines ae very common in passenger vehicles. The Urea is used to remove the NOx emissions.

I heard the V-10 is being replace by a 7 liter V-8, the 6.2's big brother. Roush is playing with one of the 7 liter ford experimental engines in one of his drag mustangs. It makes 700 hp all moter and runs on E-85. I don't expect a 700 hp 7.0 in the super duty, maybe a detuned 450 hp or so.

Thing is that for people like me who only buy used and wait for good deals, Its gona be years before i could get my hands in one of these, my dad and i own an 03 and 02 and there running strong, we haven't even tried the 3v v10s yet so its gonna be like 10 years before i could touch a 7 Letter, but even then the 10 has worked out so well for us, very dependable trucks that can take a beating, but it sounds like a mean motor gas millage will be interesting on this thing. I think that if it got outstanding millage though it could draw us away from the v10.

With mileage standards going up, you can bet that any new ford engines will get better mpg than the ones before it. They will have direct injection and other tricks to improve mpg. Just roll off that fat wallet if your impressed with the 7.0 when it comes out ha ha.

jack roush was playing with one in doug bowles yellow s197 stang last year and showing that that bad boy can run big time. the motor it self is very impressive to see. and they had a video up in nmra tv. short veiw of the motor was not enough by the sounds of the run and times ran were unreal.

the times alone would sure make you think a few time before saying anything as doug at age 60+ ? like me still yanks a stick shift
