rear window defrost not working

rear window defrost not working
When i push the button up front the light comes on but the rear window is not defrosting. Are the elements in the window just worn out or is there anything to check and look for.

Pull the access panel on the tailgate and make sure the wires are still connected to the defrost grid. They can get caught on the window mechanism and pulled loose. If they are connected OK, check for power with a meter or test light. You can also check for continuity through the grid when you have the tailgate open.

Mine went out too. I took the rear panel off and seen where the defrost wires rubbed off at the widest part, at the bottom of window. I tried the defrost repair kit and it didnt work. I'm gonna have to come up with something else.

I had power to the connections to the grid. Carefully sliding them on and off several times made the connections good again and the defroster now works. Also check the grey connector behind the bumper that has four wires, 2 to defroster and 2 to rear window I think.
