EGR/Hard Accel. problems.

EGR/Hard Accel. problems.
So, I am real tired of this problem on my '96 with 212,000 miles , 5.0, auto. This is not a problem with normal to mildly aggressive acceleration. It only happens under hard acceleration and I get a CEL. I can drive it for weeks with no problems. I can make the CEL come on at any time with hard acceleration. It does not go off unless I have it reset. Pulled the codes several times and it always comes back as EGR problem. Checked and cleaned the EGR and related parts. Works as should. Did a check on the switch that controls the vacuum to the EGR and had bad results. From searching here, the quick check said to ground the wire closest to the intake and that should activate the EGR. No such action from that test. Is there anything else I should test before replacing the switch that controls the vacuum?

Well, just to let those who read this in the future know, I fixed the problem. Took the switch (the one that controls the EGR vacuum) apart and cleaned it with anything I could find. No problems anymore.
