04 150 diff clatter anyone?
after my post I see there are many with this prob, I had to fight ford to remove there subpar fluid from my rear diff, Im telling ya, if you want a smooooooth rear diff go severe gear Amsoil 75-90, This is not an advertisment for amsoil, I was so fed up with the clunking and thumping and ford not wanting to install my fluid telling me it would void my warranty. (Bologny), they replaced my rear chunk which did nothing. the shear stability in the amsoil fluid is just what the diff ordered. ford finally saw it my way and installed my fluid, these trucks should come from the factory with the Amsoil in the diff.
As another poster said: wake up Ford...

be extremely happy, pleased, and suprised. It made me like my truck again. if you are waiting on ford to correct the problem you'll have a long wait. I have been using amsoil products for years and they are excellent. when you try to explain shear stability, flash point, film strength and all the oil tech stuff to someone at ford you might as well be talkin chinese. the amsoil fluid not only will resist molicule shear but the film can be streched much thinner and still surpass any dino oil in lubrication. try it and you will be amazed, plus your chunk will last longer. I like to pass on problem solving solutions, dont be scared to give your diff a drink of Amsoil
