Strange vibration
Im gettin this weird noise coming from somewhere in the 4.9, almost seems like its near the back of the motor. In park or neutral if you rev her up it starts to vibrate every second or so and it goes away for about a second. It gets worse when rpm pick up, you can only hear it at about 2000 plus rpm.. Almost like a grinding noise. When i accelerate, you can really hear the vibrating noise, but you only feel it on the gas pedal. Like a buzz-uzz-uzz-uzz-uzz noise; for a lack of a better term. When you put it in park that grinding noise starts for a few seconds and then goes away when it revs down. What do you guys think, any ideas? Appreciate it. One of my buddys says its the flywheel or the balancer is slipped?

It sounds like the torque converter is bad. I would pull the pan and look for trash. That buzzing sound is almost always the T/C. If you change out the T/C, be sure to flush the cooler and lines real well. If you can rent a power flusher, all the better. Good luck.

I'd start by removing the belts and see if the noise and vibration goes away. This will eliminate a lot of exspencive guessing. Bad accesories, water pumps and fan clutches have been known to cause these problem yet the noise seemed to come from else where.
