Hey all, I'm bronco shopping and I would like your help. I would like the 351 since I like power, but with my price range (1-4,000), I think I'll go with the 302.
Below are links for the broncos I'm searching for. http://www.carsoup.com/used/detail.a...4&Page=1&ASU=0
I personally too would go for a 351/w, for the fact that both 302 and 351 get the same fuel millage but you get more power with the 351/w, I agree, for $4000.00 you should be able to get a descent unit
I just bought a 93 for 1400. It has the 5.8L and only 97000 miles. limited rust around the wheel wells, none on the tailgate, and everything works. It wasn't exactly the color I wanted, I'm not a white and blue two tone guy, but hey, if I'm gonna fix the rust, another 2000, I'll have a black no rust truck for less than 4000.
Thanks all, I'm sorry, but around here, the lowest I found that was good was for $3,500. It had little rust, 113,000 miles, new transmission and spark plugs. 1991. I say one at a Jeep dealer for $5,600 with 151,000 and the 302. Bad u-joint (not a real problem though) and the transmission slipped between shifts. The steering also needed to be realligned. Another one at a Ford dealer was a 1995 with no rust, 120,000 miles and they want $10,000. Just hard to find a good one around here.
I got mine for 3500 check my gallary (89 351 EB 9700 miles, 4"lift, ARB air lockers, 33" BFG's and a kick a$$ stereo). You don't have to shop only where you live. E-bay has some great deals right now. Find you one for 3500 and use the rest of your money for a bus or plane ticket. I live in houston TX and took a bus for $135 to Colorado and drove it home in 13 hours.
That's nuts. I can't beat poffutt's deal, but I picked up a nearly perfect 1990 EB with a 351 and all the goodies for $3500 earlier this year. ZERO rust, even the tailgate is perfect. 112k miles. People swear it's been painted because it still has the factory gloss on it. I get compliments on it everywhere I go.
Anyone asking $10k for a stock Bronco with 120k miles is smoking a big fat bag of crack.

Like said before, you can beat poffutt's deal, but look outside your area, check quick quarter newspapers, thrifty nickel, internet, etc...
I didnt see one Bronco in my area for sale, there was one about 20 miles away that a guy wouldn't sell, and you just have to be paitient till you find what you want for the right price.
I just paid $2,200 for a 88 w/302 manual in Texas and I live in Michigan. Took the family on a vacation to visit family and broght her back on a UHaul tow dolly (even tho they had to change the paperwork to read Bronco II because of size & weight). If the market is not saturated with Bronco's then the dealers will get what they want for them. Up here in the rust belt, the dealers want 3 - 5,000 for one that has some good rust spots.......
