When is a Recall Not a Recall

DCX announced Friday that it was recalling 265,000 1999-2000 Stratus, Cirrus and Breeze sedans. What is the problem? The power steering hose could get old, crack and leak PS fluid, possibly causing a fire.

Imagine that. A 6 year old high pressure hose can wear out and leak fluid.

Bad, bad DCX. Selling "defective" cars on innocent Americans.

...And we wonder why the price of new vehicles keeps going up.....

There was an article in the local paper about a woman who got national exposure on TV because the transmission on her seven year old 200,000km minivan broke, and Chrysler didnt want to pay to fix it.

How awful, somebody drives a car for six years/unlimited mileage and they might complain because a P/S steering hose developed a leak. Then they neglect it, the leak get's worse (hmmm, I wonder if they had to add fluid along the way ), and they get what they had comming (engine fire). Lousy, rotten planet. Stupid, lazy people that walk among us and don't want to take responsibility for their actions, instead preferring to blame anyone in sight .

I think that the "fire" part got them. Must drip on something hot.

Now, if it only dripped on the ground, then maybe DCX would have been OK.

Geesh!

Fordzlla,

Thanks for that link, it was almost funny, if the mind set of the woman wasn't so warped.

My two favorite lines:

"we bought a second hand one.” "The Laroque’s bought a 1999 Dodge Caravan."

No mention that they had even bought it at a Dodge dealership because she did not bring it to a Dodge dealership to complain. She bought a used piece of junk car from a used car dealer and SUPRISE SURPRISE she holds the person with biggest pockets accountable.

"It’s been a good experience, but I’m disappointed,” she says. “In servicing their customer I don’t feel that Chrysler has gone that extra mile. They say they have this five star rating. Well, excuse me, for customer service I’ll take one of those stars away."

I thought a customer was someone that bought the product at least from the dealership.
