I have a ’00 with a 6 disk changer in the center console and I am getting an error msg on the radio stating the magazine is empty. Obviously I have CD’s in the magazine, any ideas on what could be wrong? I could pull the changer out, but who would work on it and any ideas on what kind of labor I would be looking at? If the labor to fix it is way out of line is there another option? Like an in dash changer from a newer model? I would like to keep the look stock, thus no aftermarket if possible. Thanks for any help.
Try running a cleaner disc or unplug the unit sometimes a reset helps but be sure you dont have security coded radio not sure if ford has that but I have dealt these issues in the past on toyotas. What is the product #?post it if you can find it!appreciate ya!
I am having the same problem with a 98. A cd clearner does not help out. I will try unplugging it next to reset it then cleaning it, but it does not recognize any discs, even the cleaner...
Lostaprop I love that avatar you either are good with pics or a google digging son of a gun.I hate to say but if none of these little tricks work and it will not read disc its probably junk, the laser eye is usually bad.appreciate ya!
