The '03 XLS I recently bought did come with cross bars for the roof rack. Where is a good place to get these besides the dealer who wants about $200+ for these cross bars. How about a junk yard? Could of been a few Escapes it total wrecks where the roof rack was intact.
Any online dealers sell after market cross bars that will fit on the rails?

i checked around for mine too, and dealer was all i could find, haven't seen one totalled yet, but aftermarket could have come out since i looked

 

CheapFordParts has new OEM bars for $85. You might also try UsedPartsLive for nationwide junk yard availability.

Where are you located? I have 2 sets taken off my Hybrids that should work fine. I will never use the roofrack so I took the bars off to get another .01 mpg .

This real interesting...get a load of this...Ford says the OEM crossbars for the 2003 Escape will fit all Escapes including the 05 and 06 Hybrid, but according to their "Fits Vehicles" list, the 05 and 06 Hybrid crossbars are only for 04 Escapes and up, duh? Something don't sound right..

Check it out when you have time, put in Escape Hybrid (from the drop down menu)"View All" then click on the "Fits Vehicles" list...then put in Escape (not Hybrid) from the drop down menu and year 2003 and do the same with "Fits Vehicle" list..

Your local junk yards. The good ones have computerized inventory. Some '01's are starting to creep into the junkies nationwide. Probably hard to find '05's andf later.
Also try oehq.com. Based in St. Louis, they sell genuine new Ford/Motorcraft parts at deep discount. (Also AC Delco for you bowtie fans). Just tried them for some '05 hybrid filters (the hard to find rear air filter, for one) and they're dirt cheap.

 

Thanks for the tip on the filter. I'll be needing a couple soon. If I am going to go through the effort to remove and inspect, it's getting changed whether it needs it or not.
