Tonneau = Access Cover -- Thumbs Up

I got the Access Covrer (Tonneau) for my 04 SCREW. I have had it for ~3 months now. If you are in the market for a bed cover and already decided on a soft cover (vs. a hard cover), the Access Cover is the Cat's Meow. It is close to perfect. It keeps the bed dry. It is simple to open and close. It fits perfect. AND ... it looks really nice. I can't imagine it being better designed.

I installed the thing myself. It was simple but the directions are a little unclear in some parts. It took me about an hour.

I got the Limited version. It has a couple of nice features including: A) The clamps include some light duty tie down rings. I now leave bungie cord dangling to hold simple things (i.5 ... 5 gallons of gas) in place. They are rated up to 80 lbs (I think). B) it has a single release point to open the cover (you don't need to release each side). Very nice. C) to adjust the cover is extremely simple so you can get the tention right very quickly.

Overall ... great cover. Thought I would share.

You are right, I love my access cover! My wife loves the fact that she can open and close the cover even in cold weather. I have had my cover for almost 1 year and i love more each day. I got mine new on ebay for 350.00 free shipping. From 'Tonneau Man'.

I am planning to buy an 06 Supercrew, and am just starting to look at bed covers.
My old truck had an aluminum toolbox bolted to the bed behind the rear window, and I might buy another. Can this cover you are mentioning also be used if there is a toolbox, or will it be in the way? Got any photos or a web link? Thanks.

COOL! Do you know if the toolbox edition can be installed in a truck with a plastic bedliner and toolbox without drilling into the fenders?

I've had them all over the years, Extang RT, Truxedo RT and now the Access RT.

I got my Access for $200....other than that I'm really not very happy with the attention to detail.

The cover it self is a good cover, but the rest of the assembly is pretty poor in quality comared to Truxedo or Extang Rt. The Access uses thin strips of cover material to help roll up the bars where nylon strapping is used on the two other soft roll ups. I'm extremely disapointed in how well the cover actually seals the bed. Again cover material is used where seals should be used. This is especially true on the tailgate and the bulkhead.

If I were to get another one tomorrow it would definately be the Extang RT as I really like the hook points that are incorporated in the clamps, the sealing of the cover, and its flat profile. The Truxedo would be a close second, and the Access distant 3rd.

Thumbs up Access Toolbox Edition

If the Access Toolbox Edition is like the Extang RT Toolbox Edition, it works fine with the factory bedliner. The side rails clamp to the bed rails and the leading edge attaches to the toolbox. The only drilling is one hole into the toolbox (seal with silicone to be safe.) No drilling is required anywhere else.

Do any of these, hard or soft allow use of the tailgate without opening the cover?

I've got a tailgate lock, so I don't need the toneau hanging over it.

Yes, you can open the tailgate with out poping the cover if the cover is installed properly on all of them.

If you have a tailgate lock, it also locks the tonneau. You need to open the tailgate in order to release the latch to roll the cover up.
