Stuck wastegate on a 6.0 Garrett turbo

Who was it that said that the 6.0 does not have a wastegate?
Mine has stuck several times and I had to replace it today at a cost of $399.00 just for the part.
It is mounted on the side of the Garrett turbo and dumps exhaust gases to regulate the turbo boost.
Since exhaust gasses pass through it, it sometimes gets plugged with carbon according to the dealer. I got tired of trying to clean it, so I replaced it today.
When it fails, the turbo won't build boost and the truck will fall flat on its face..
Result: No power. It will run at idle fine, but when you try to tromp it, nothing.

I havew just brought a used 2005 6.0 nice 108,000. already put 12,000.00 on it
cahanged oil twice alreay also all fuel filters truck running great until this morning after runnning 6 hours refueled and about an hour later stsrted get sluggest no black smoke .. put fuel additive in thinking it wasb bad fuel no luck
got worst no black smoke just no pwer took exhaust off not gettinh a good flow also chcked the air filter still no change I think it's the turbo control the turbo is winding up and building some presure but this truck used to screem! what might be the problem my 7.3 has 455,550. on it I've done al my own work on it but this a little different help me please will

You Need some gauges
I use ScanGaugeII
Go get it scaned for DTC auto zone and other do for free
but the SGII will probably find the Issue and it could be a few diff things
..

In the parts diagram it calls the VGT SELENOID a WASTE GATE $253 @ TOUSLEYS. IF your truck sites for a while they unisom ring while freeeze up and cuase that problem. My truck doesn't get used that often and thats what happened to me and also when you take it apart the actuation arm should only move 90-180 deg not spin all the way around, their is a 1/16 inch shear pin that could break like mine
