Well, no matter what U do.. I would rig up sum type of safety so U dont get a big surprise when / if something goes wrong..

Chuck, I put a pic in my gallery under 427sohc.

 

The trunk latch on my wife's 95 Town Car works well and has never been a problem.

 

That looks to be a valuable illustration, the only problem is it is too small for these old eyes to read, and when I try to enlarge it, it pixilates real bad...

the 89-early 90s i rocs had these, and had a u shaped catch, with a gear driven motor that pullrd the lid down. the motor has 2 micro switchs built into it for the closed and upper limits.
