just looking for options....that in cab tank is wasting the space that could be taken up by a couple subs and an amp rack, always had a thing for good sound in my vehicles, especially on long runs when you get into a rut running same speed/rpm for a long time. i'll have to see where bumper lines up to projected tank position, and how big of a tank i can get in there
Looking at all the other modifications you would have to do to use any of the other tanks, wouldn't it still be easier to simply to shorten the width of the rear mounted 70's model Ford truck tank? It's not that big of a deal. I had to do one on a mini-tub project not too long ago. Here's another suggestion, go ahead and get a new tank (whichever you decide to use). By the time you pull out and buy the old tank, have it cleaned out, and seal it inside, you're going to come out about the same as if you would have went with a new one. As far as shops that would do this type of work, if you don't find any that advertise gas tank repair, check with radiator repair shops. From what I understand most of these guys don't advertise gas tank repair (thanks to the everwatching eyes of the EPA) but they still do it.
yeah place downtown sells aftermarket replacements, going to take measurements on my truck and head down there, see if i can find one with decent capacity that'll slide in without too much mods, then take fuel neck wherever its convenient. 2 local shops i think do tank repair.
