Jardine 4" exhaust

Merry Christmas everyone.
Has anyone or is anyone running a Jardine 4" exhaust system? I see he has them on sale on Ebay $280 + 1/2 off on shipping $27. Item# 8023893021
I know we should support the sponsors, but $307 for a complete 4" aluminized system with a Lifetime warranty shipped to your door, is hard to pass up.

technically it has a 3.5'' downpipe, until about 3/4 way down past the firewall. the bends look smooth, mandrel is always good. i would go for it and see if you like it. can't beat the price.

the only bad thing i see is the clamped joint behind the axle hump. that is really noticeable and looks bad. MBRP's systems dont have that joint, it is one piece from the muffler exit out.

Merry Christmas

I got a Jardine kit for my OBS powerstroke off ebay. I really like it. The only part I didnt like like strokin said is the way it exits. I fixed it by welding the last piece instead of clamping it, and then put a 4-5" tip on it. Looks good now!

I think it sounds good, but I'm a little bias on the subject.

I didn't look at the difference between the two and didn't notice the 2 piece tail pipe, no big deal though. I weld. I know that a pipe pulling at an angle puts a lot of twist on a clamp and dosn't work that well
Thanks.

Craven,

We can't quite get to that price with an MBRP but we can get close. That gets you a muffler packed with a ceramic blanket and stainless steel wool, welded hangers where ever possible and the one piece tail pipe for the best looks and longest life etc. Give us a call Tuesday, you'll be surprised at what we can get you for the money as compared etc.

Craven just have some patience, save a little more and call MarkDPP and get his 5" exhaust. Every bend is done on a mandrel machine, no reduction in pipe diameter anywhere.

Kwik, is your system a 4" downpipe and then 5" piping immediately all the way to the downpipe?? I've seen some systems that just expand at the muffler.

Yes. 4" DP and flaring to 5" as soon as possible. Going through a 5" ID muffler and continuing 5" all the way to the tailpipe. The smallest part of the exhaust is the 4" downpipe.

Well I tried to provide a link but somewhere it won't go all the way through.
Click on my signature "4 inch exhaust is not enough" and there you will have a working link at the top of the page.

Is the max flow thru an exhaust determined by the smallest restriction after the turbo. It could be the DP, or Cat, or muffler which causes the most backpressure. I haven't measured my Banks DP. It may only be a 3.5" DP, and 4" after that. Don't know if the Banks muffler is more of a restriction than my DP. Anyways I don't have enough hp to need anything bigger than what I got now.
But I agree a 5" tailpipe or chrome tailpipe extension looks cool!

For the last 34 years, I have run heavy equipment. I've listened to diesel engines most of my life. I don't want to hear to much of that sound in my own truck. Granted it is not as bad as V12 Jimmie screaming in your ear all day long, but I don't think I need a 5". All I want to do is let my 7.3 breath better by getting rid of the stock muffler. For the mods I am planning, a 4" or maybe a BTM is all I'll need right now. Plus my better half might have a word or two or three to say about the sound. My old 6.9 sounds real good with a 3.5" and a Dynomax turbo muffler, most people didn't know it was a diesel unless they heard it idle. No turbo whine, just the rumble of 420ci of American iron. It would be nice to turn the hiss of the turbo into more of quite roar, but I don't know if it can be done.
